An Afternoon of Celebrating Moms!
An Afternoon of Celebrating Moms!
With spring in full bloom and summer break nearly upon us, life is at its busiest for most families as we juggle work, school, sports, activities, and birthday parties. While this is one of my favorite times of the year, it's also one of the most daunting as I look at my crammed schedule and long for some tranquility. We, as moms, need a break! With Mother's Day around the corner, I decided to pull something together to CELEBRATE EACH OTHER.
On Saturday, May 6, I invited members of the Fairlington Moms’ Club, as well as some of my clients, to join me for an afternoon of pampering at Meraki, my favorite nail salon in Old Town Alexandria. Kathleen and her staff welcomed us with open arms, offering both classic and gel manicures and pedicures to those who attended. We had drinks, snacks, and treats, all graciously offered to us by my 5th grade son and Lauren Baldi’s 5th grade son, Stellan and Alexander. 35 moms with kids of all ages turned up to enjoy some personal attention, lots of good conversation, and a little time off from real life!
I started my solo real estate business when I was pregnant with Stellan because I couldn’t find affordable childcare. I had no local family and joined the Fairlington Moms’ Club for support — which included meals, babysitting, and play groups. I ended up making lifelong friends, and many of these moms became my first clients! Now, 12 years later, I was thrilled to be able to say THANK YOU! to these fabulous women and this life-saving club, with my firstborn helping out at my side. All of these gals were so appreciative for the break and some much-needed pampering. I am so grateful to everyone who has helped me build a thriving business out of nothing — with a baby (or three) on my hip!
